Concept Map — Topics 1 to 4
How do all the ideas of Term 4 fit together?
- Recall the main ideas of each topic
- Connect concepts across topics
- Produce a visual concept map
Overview
Concept mapping forces you to see the whole picture: threats connect to controls, controls to laws, laws to ethics, ethics to health and safety. Building one map on one sheet is the fastest way to check how well the term hangs together in your head.
Map Structure
Put 'Digital Security' in the centre. Around it, four branches — Threats, Controls, Ethics & Law, Health & Safety. Under each branch, add the specific ideas from that topic and draw lines showing links.
Hunt for Links
MFA (control) connects to phishing (threat); backups (control) connect to ransomware (threat); copyright (law) connects to digital footprint (ethics); ergonomics (health) connects to daily habits (footprint).
Build the Map
- On an A3 sheet, build a concept map of all Term 4 topics.
- Use at least 20 concepts and 15 linking lines.
- Pin up and compare with classmates.
- Name one link between Topic 1 (Threats) and Topic 2 (Controls).
Reveal answer
